Our fine selection of chimney inspection tools should really be called company credibility tools. When it comes to diagnosing chimney system problems and damage there’s no better way than to have visual documents to back up your reports.
The human eye cannot catch all cracks and damage in a chimney. Think back to your last eye appointment when they asked you to read those tiny little letters. Picking up cracks and damage is more challenging because they aren’t defined and you’re looking in a dark chimney. Further, National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA) 211 requires the flue to be scanned when doing inspections.
These lighted chimney cameras pick up damage ranging from a simple Wireless Infrared Camera to the RoVac Dryer Vent Inspection System to the complex high resolution Wöhler® and Chim-Scan® chimney cameras

Smoke Detection Solutions

When chimney damage is suspected, but you can’t pinpoint the source, use our Smoke Pellets for testing. They are easy to light and have a neutral odor. First, make sure the appliance venting into the flue is off. Then block off the top of the flue. Light a pellet and put it on the smoke shelf or into the thimble. Close the chimney damper or block off the thimble below. Then walk through the house looking for smoke and smelling for smoke to determine the source of the leak. The pellets are user-friendly and encapsulated for easy handling and clean-up.
Our Smoke Matches burn for thirty seconds and generate just enough smoke to help determine draft direction.

The Endoscope is used to view hard to access areas such as smoke chambers, behind thimbles and more. It’s particularly useful when wanting to view an area behind a wall. Simply drill a small, patchable hole, insert the tube and view the area you need to. The Endoscope includes a fiber optic tube which is attached to the viewing device.
